THE FAT CATS

The Fat Cats formed in 1990. Members are front man Doug Newman (Big Bapa) of Detroit Lakes, MN, Wes Horn (bass and vocals) of Dilworth, MN, Kerry Boyd (lead guitar, key board and vocalist) of Detroit Lakes, MN and Steve Ingberg (drums) of Fargo, ND.

The Fat Cats have been ranked #1 in Classic Rock, #1 in Blues, #13 in Rock and #48 in All Genres for Minnesota on MySpace.com, in addition they have hit the Top 100 Artists Rankings in the US in Classic Rock and Blues Bands.

Prior to The Fat Cats, Doug had been touring with the Fargo/Moorhead based band ShyBoy. Wes, Kerry and Steve were all former members of a popular Fargo based band The Debonaires.

In addition to playing street dances, corporate events, casinos, weddings, festivals, and night clubs, The Fat Cats are also playing to national and international audiences, appearing annually at Dragfest, Ontario, Canada, and San Pedro, Belize, Central America. The Fat Cats have developed the reputation among all ages as being the ultimate party band.

The Fat Cats have shared the stage with rock legends: Boston, ZZ Top, REO Speedwagon, Little Feat, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Burdon, Head East, The Spinners, The Byrds, and many more.

In 1995 the band completed their first CD project entitled The Fat Cats : RUB. Today the guys say they have a new fire motivating them and The Fat Cats have shifted into high gear! These veteran musicians are starting a new chapter in their lives. Having access to a pool of other musicians and friends to add to the mix, they are planning the release of their second CD later this spring. The CD will include tracks from local area song writers.
